Shortly after arriving in Australia I started working in a restaurant and enjoyed this work immensely. This was an unusual place of work as for the first time I thought that work was fun, not work. I went there every day and had a great time, which was quite a change from previous work places. Later on, by a co-worker, I was told that the owners studied something called Scientology, which I had never heard of before. When I asked the guy what that was he replied, a type of philosophy about life, it works, it works. He, however, never did it. Anyway, this was very vague and I really had no clue what it meant. One day one of the owners was sitting around and I was chatting with her, (they were very approachable, which was a rare thing going on past experiences with bosses). I asked her what Scientology was and she said it was best to read a book about it.
She took me down to the local Scientology church and introduced me to someone there. I ended up reading a book called Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health. It was available in German which was great for me. I read the book and it was immediately clear to me that here were some answers.
I was intensely interested and enrolled to study the actual Dianetics course which taught how to apply this technology. (Scientology, to me- and as anyone starting to look into it quickly realizes- was always an immediately activity and is much better likened to a practical about how life works and how you can change something right this minute.)
From there I went onto study other courses and the catual application of all these processes and technologies.
It is not easy to describe what I got out of Scientology, but if you can think of all the nice, the good, the happy, the exciting, the helpful and the courageous qualities about you, that at one time or another you displayed or possessed, well, those are made stronger, more prominent, more under your control and life becomes more fun and interesting. Eventually the idea, that life actually is a game that one can get pretty good at, takes shape in your mind and in reality.
The great thing is that when you reach these new levels of activity, yesterday looked difficult but today is 'easy as', and then you look ahead, it looks more exciting and it is quite remarkable how much one can actually change life to one's liking.
To have this information - knowledge, technology, whatever you want to call it- available, 'right now', in most cities of the world in a format that can be easily studied and understood and then used, is an incredibly fortunate happenstance. Problems you or other have / had / will have, times you wanted to help someone and couldn't because you did not know how etc., Really do not have to be part of you life anymore. There is actually something you can do and it can start with simply reading a book. I strongly recommend you do.
